"How to easily create Your Own Hair Accessory: DIY Scrunchie Tutorial"

Scrunchies are a popular hair accessory that has recently made a comeback. They are available in a wide range of colors, fabrics, and styles, making it simple to select the perfect one to complement any outfit. While you can buy scrunchies anywhere, making your own may be a fun and easy DIY project. Not only is it a low-cost option to expand your accessory collection, but it also allows you to customize your scrunchies to reflect your personal style. In this article, we'll walk you through the process of making your own scrunchie. So gather your supplies and let's get started!

 Materials:

  • Fabric (at least 25 x 50 cm)
  • Elastic (20-25 cm)
  • Sewing machine or needle and thread
  • Pins
  • Scissors
  • Safety pin

Instructions:

  1. Cut a piece of fabric that is at least 20 x 50 cm. This will create a standard-sized scrunchie, but you can adjust the measurements based on your personal preference.

  2. Fold the fabric in half with the right sides facing each other. Pin along the long edge and sew a straight line, leaving both ends open.

  3. Turn the fabric right side out and press it flat.

  4. Cut a piece of elastic that is 20-25 cm long, depending on the size of your scrunchie. Attach a safety pin to one end of the elastic and feed it through the fabric tube, scrunching the fabric down as you go.

  5. Once the elastic is all the way through, overlap the ends by about an inch and sew them together securely.

  6. Tuck one end of the fabric into the other end to create a tube. Pin it in place and sew a straight line across the opening, securing both ends of the fabric together.

  7. Turn the scrunchie right side out, fluff it up, and enjoy your new DIY hair accessory!

Optional You can customize your scrunchie by using different fabrics or adding embellishments like curvatures, globules, or sequins.
